Green River Fire & Rescue has received official notification from the N.C. Office of State Fire Marshall of a new ISO rating of 4/9E which will go into effect Januray 1, 2018. The rating dropped from the former ISO rating of a 5 within our 5 mile district. Class 9E applies to all other properties within the fire district outside of the 5 miles, but no more than 6 miles. The Office of State Fire Marshal conducted the inspection June 26, 2017. The purpose of their visit was to gather information needed to determine a fire insurance classification, which will be used in the calculations of property insurance premiums. Our members devoted much of their time to help prepare for the rating. We are happy to provide the citizens of the Green River Fire district with a lower ISO rating.
